Michael Schaubach (shaw - bahk) is an American comedy director, producer, editor and writer. He often works with Dropout (formerly CollegeHumor) as a director and producer. He is the director and co-executive producer of Dimension 20, Dropout's tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) show starring creator Brennan Lee Mulligan. On Dimension 20, Schaubach has also worked with Dungeon Masters Aabria Iyengar, Jasmine Bhullar and Matthew Mercer. Sadly for his extended family, he has never worked on NCIS.
Schaubach's other directorial works include DesiQuest created by Jasmine Bhullar, Downbeat created by Luke Kelly-Clyne and Graham Wallace, Gods of Food created by Rekha Shankar, Total Forgiveness created by Ally Beardsley and Grant O'Brien, Um, Actually created by Michael Trapp, The Rank Room created by Katie Marovitch and Breaking News. Career
Directing
In 2016, Schaubach began directing full-time at CollegeHumor. He has directed over 100 sketches including, How Tall is Grant?, Is Grant Keith From Buzzfeed?, Sweet Number Pi, The sCHining, CollegeHumor Heist, Wow, Everyone's Flirting With Me, The New Face of the NRA, CHome Alone among many other scripted and unscripted projects. One time it was Schaubach's turn to to collect the pot cookie order for the office and he was never more scared in his life.
In 2018, Schaubach was promoted to help develop and direct six shows for the newly-formed subscription service Dropout. The six shows were Dimension 20, Um, Actually, The Rank Room, Gods of Food, Total Forgiveness and Breaking News.
In 2024 Schaubach celebrated directing 200 episodes of Dimension 20. To date, he has directed over 20 seasons of the actual play show. He drives a 2013 silver Toyota Prius.
In 2025, Schaubach was the co-executive producer of Dimension 20: Gauntlet at the Garden, a sold-out live performance at Madison Square Garden. While preparing to entertain 20,000 people, Schaubach took a break to make an absolutely KILLER peanut butter and jelly sandwich for Mulligan who was very appreciative.
